Gold!

ok, HERE is the post that I have been meaning to write for a couple days now. I had every intention of writing yesterday but then Eggplant (my car) decided she wanted to go back to the mechanic (the second time in less than a week) and I now owe the nice men at All Tune and Brake a pretty penny. Actually A LOT of pretty pennies. Anyway, that was a long and boring story.

So while I was in suburbia, I spotted 3 gold pendant accessories and had a total revelation; I love gold! Good bye 1998 and your silver necklace craze.

Consider the following:

This tiny pendant detail changes this belt from ho-hum to classy. Paired with a few other gold things: bracelet, earrings etc--you've got a nice thing going!

 

This is from 'GreenTeaJewels' on Etsy. One of my sightings in suburbia was a pendant necklace like this one: delicate chains with multiple gold disks. Ok, must have.

The other gold sighting was seen in the movie The Tourist starring Angelina Jolie. (check out the bracelet below. it was very similar). Also, since this is technically a fashion blog, I have to point out how foxy Jolie looks here. The shrug is by Swarovski.

I could do without ALL of these pendants but still a cool bracelet. The big disk features Janus, the roman god of beginnings and transitions.

Confessions, Pop Tarts and Gloria Vanderbilt

So, I got this for my mom last week as a gift but that didn’t keep me from wearing it before giving it to her. A little tacky? Probably. But please take into consideration the following:

I had to talk myself out of not taking one of the MANY boxes of Pop-Tarts that were in the apartment lobby as part of the dry-goods collection our facility is doing. That’s right. Dry-goods. As in non perishable(ish) food for people who are hungry and need something to eat. I wanted those Pop-Tarts. I didn’t take any but I think there might be about one million things wrong with me the least of which being wearing a gift before giving it.

Something unrelated that I recently learned: Gloria Vanderbilt is Anderson Cooper’s MOM. Oh there’s gonna be posts about Anderson, don’t worry. Lately I get made fun of a lot for having a celebrity crush on a man rumored (rumored and confirmed?) to be gay. Healthy, I know.

I wonder if Gloria calls her son Andy. Now THAT’d be weird.
